Investment & crypto “guaranteed returns” scam
A platform or “advisor” promises high, guaranteed, or doubled returns — then takes your deposit and disappears or blocks withdrawals.
Informational only — not legal or financial advice.
How it works
- You're invited (ad, message, dating app) to a “great” investment.
- A slick app shows your money “growing” fast.
- When you try to withdraw, they demand more fees, taxes, or block you.
Red flags
- “Guaranteed” returns, “no risk,” or doubling your money.
- Pressure to act now and deposit more.
- Withdrawals blocked unless you pay extra fees or taxes.
What to do
- Treat any guaranteed return as a scam — real investing has risk.
- Check if the firm is licensed by your country's financial regulator.
- Talk to a qualified, independent professional before investing.
What NOT to do
- Do not deposit money or crypto into a platform from a message or ad.
- Do not pay extra “fees” to release your own funds.
